Welcome new adventures!

Welcome new adventurers! The Young Adventurers Club was created to promote family togetherness first and foremost. It was also created to give young people a club to meet new friends, explore new places, have some very memorable adventures, and learn skills and values that they can carry with them throughout life.

This club is a non-profit organization. There are no fees or dues of any kind. All of our activities are
"pay as you go", which simply put means; when/if we plan activities with cost, then the parent or guardian of each participant will be responsible for that cost at the time of payment for the activity. Most adventures we plan
will be low to no cost! There are plenty of adventures out there that only require participation, and that's what we're really after anyway!

Adult participation is required! Every child must be accompanied by their parent or guardian on every event. The mission of this club promotes family values, and we're not letting anyone off the hook easily. On rare occasions their may be an exception to this rule, but that will be decided by the group leaders of the activity, in advance, and on a case by case basis.

The Young Adventurers Club is for kids of all ages and gender. Each activity will be given a rating. The rating number will specify the suggested minimum age for that event. So if we're going canoeing, and the outfitter we choose won't allow any child under 5, then the activity will be rated 5. Simple enough right? The higher the rating is; the more challenging it may be as well. We may rate hiking an 8 even though it's a public forest and there is no minimum age which just means we don't suggest anyone under 8 attempts the hike due to its difficulty. All scheduled adventures will be posted here on this blog and great detail will be given about what we plan to do, where we're meeting, if there's any cost, its location, how to dress, what's for lunch, etc.

It goes without saying, but we are saying it anyway. All activities are 100% optional, and will in no way affect your standings in the club. Also, we will be giving instructions and advise during all activities, and doing our very best to look after all of the group’s safety; However, The Young Adventurers Club will in no way be held responsible for any child’s well being or safety; that will be the sole responsibility of the parent or guardian that is required to accompany them. That just had to be said, legal stuff you know. On a personal note I treat every child in my company as if they were my own and I know most of you feel the same way. Please remember, these outings are really no different than if you had simply taking your child to an activity and happened to meet up with the rest of us there.

One of the great things about having an adventure with your family is the memories you get to share, forever. When we’re around the house, same old routine, we all get wrapped up in all of life’s dramas. Tempers can flare sometimes and we never seem to have enough time for the really important things! When you’re having an adventure, especially one in the wilderness, all of life’s little dramas seem to fade away! You are only focused on what’s in front of you right then, your family! That’s the way it should be.
