Ty hanging out on the rocks just after he swam with bottlenose dolphins at Discovery Cove. He wouldn't admit it, but he was very nervous about getting up close and personal with these guys at first. He overcame his fears, swam out in the deep water, and was carried back to mom and dad safely by a dolphin. What an awesome day! He'll never forget this adventure!

Is that what I think it is?!
Kind of makes you do a double take doesn't it? Ty secures the jaws while Casey gets those back legs off the ground so the gator can't surge ahead and eat her little brother! They've seen Steve Irwin do this a hundred times, they're professionals folks, don't try this at home. Although Casey and Savannah both have actually handled six foot live alligators all by themselves before (I'll be posting those pictures soon), this one in fact is 'real fake'. At Luray Zoo 2008.
extreme sledding
Just outside of Erie PA, Casey, Ty, and Savannah went for some extreme sleding down a monster of a hill! The kind of hill you only climb once; it took about a half an hour to climb to the top....20 seconds going down! What a ride!
We can almost reach Canada
With Canada to their backs, Casey (left), Ty (center), and Savannah (right) braved the fridged temps for a while to take in the breath taking views of Niagara Falls in January 2009. It was so cold that the mist from the falls fell down as ice pellets!
Our fossil findings!
Starting from the lower left, we found an ancient snail shell, a couple shark's teeth above that, the next fossil over is a small tusk belonging to a relative of the manatee, then we have a vertebrae of a whale as the big black thing, and all the way on the right we found a fulgurite, or petrified lightning! When lightning hits the sand it fuses it together (glass) and forms a fulgurite. All this information was compliments of Ranger Dan, who we were lucky enough to meet down on the beach that day.
Casey combs the beach.
At Fossil Beach, Casey searches the shore line for shark's teeth and other fossilized remains. The fossils are washed from the cliffs on either side on this bay, into the water, and onto the beach. You need to have a lot of patience and persistance to find fossils!
Ty hiking near Fossil Beach
This is one of Tyler's first hikes, and although it was a fairly short one (just over a mile there and back) he took on those hills with pride. And he even stopped occasionally to stake claim to some giant Oak trees that had been blown down in a recent storm. January 2009
